Sharad Pawar says Maha Vikas Aghadi to win 30 to 35 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar remarked on Thursday that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is projected to win 30 to 35 Lok Sabha seats out of Maharashtra's total of 48.

Pawar, a former Union minister, expressed optimism that the people's demand for change would be reflected in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 result, which will be announced on June 4. Speaking to reporters in Satara district, he predicted that opposition parties would score significantly better than they did in the 2019 elections, reported PTI.

According to the report, the MVA is a state-level coalition that includes the Congress, the NCP, and the Shiv Sena (UBT).

"In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress won one seat, the NCP (SP) secured four seats, and the AIMIM grabbed one seat. However, this time, it appears that our seat count will range between 30 and 35. People are seeking change, and the trends indicate that the Congress, NCP (SP), and Shiv Sena (UBT) will receive voter support," Pawar asserted.

Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-highest after Uttar Pradesh (80). With 24 seats already voted on in the first three phases, the fourth and fifth rounds of polling are scheduled for May 13 and 20, respectively, the report added.

According to another report, Sharad Pawar stated on Thursday that people were pleased with the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and blasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for claiming that if elected, the Congress will place a "Babri lock" on the monument. The former Union minister questioned if a government could shut down a temple erected with public funds, adding that Modi's words show he will not return to power at the Centre during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024, reported ANI.

According to the report, addressing a rally at Ambejogai in Beed district in support of the party's candidate Bajrang Sonawane, he said, "Have you ever heard a government shutting down a temple constructed with people's funds?"

The Rajya Sabha MP reaffirmed the Ram temple in Ayodhya has been built with people's donations.
