India's unprecedented economic growth under the leadership of Dr Manmohan Singh
Under Dr Manmohan Singh's stewardship, India experienced unprecedented economic growth, reaching its highest growth rate in history. His leadership was instrumental in steering the country towards new heights of economic success, marking a pivotal era in India's economic history.
Dr Manmohan Singh served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014, leading the Congress-led UPA government. His tenure was marked by significant policy reforms and initiatives that contributed to the country's economic development.
Notably, Dr Manmohan Singh also held the position of India's Finance Minister during the tenure of Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao from 1991 to 1996. This period is widely regarded as an epochal era for the Indian economy, characterized by comprehensive and far-reaching economic reforms.
Sharad Pawar, a prominent political leader himself, served as the agriculture minister in the UPA government led by Dr Manmohan Singh. He later served as Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in the government led by Singh in the 2000s.
Pawar was associated with the Indian National Congress since the 1950s and had joined the party in 1958 before splitting from the grand old party in 1999 and forming his own party NCP. He was Yashwantrao Chavan's protege.
