Modi said private sector hospitals can continue to procure 25 per cent of vaccines, but their service charge would be capped at Rs 150 per dose over fixed price of the vaccine. He said vaccine supply would be increased significantly in coming days. The process of procuring vaccines from firms of other nations has also been expedited, he added.
India reported 1,00,636 fresh Covid-19 cases, the lowest in 61 days, and 2,427 new fatalities, the lowest in around 45 days, according to the Centre's data updated on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the Centre is considering a mechanism to allow air passengers who have got both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to travel within the country without a negative test report, senior officials said on Monday.
In a bid to push inoculation of 45-plus age group, the Delhi government will send booth level officers door to door for allocating slots to eligible persons to get the vaccination closer home at their designated polling centres, the CM announced on Monday.

The Union Health Ministry on Monday dropped the use of ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, and favipiravir from its Covid-19 treatment guidelines. The use of medicines such as zinc, multivitamins, etc, prescribed by the doctors to asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic Covid-19 is also not mentioned.
