Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen has stirred up yet another social media storm after she posted some controversial remarks about the process of surrogacy.

Her remarks come after Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and American pop start Nick Jonas announced the birth of their child via surrogacy. While the author did not take any names, she called out the process and questioned the feelings of mothers who welcome their babies via surrogacy.

"How do those mothers feel when they get their readymade babies through surrogacy? Do they have the same feelings for the babies like the mothers who give birth to the babies?" Nasreen tweeted.

She added, "Surrogacy is possible because there are poor women. Rich people always want the existence of poverty in the society for their own interests. If you badly need to raise a child, adopt a homeless one. Children must inherit your traits---it is just a selfish narcissistic ego."

Her post garnered mixed reactions from Twitterati. While some said, it is the choice of an individual to welcome their baby through means they deem fit; few told off her comments as insensitive. Another bunch of Twitter users pointed out that many couples choose surrogacy due to health conditions.

Later, in a different tweet, Nasreen clarified herself by saying, "My surrogacy tweets are about my different opinions on surrogacy. Nothing to do with Priyanka-Nick. I love the couple."
