Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has finally failed to find an eyewitness in the case of murder of Bhopal-based right to information (RTI) activist Shehla Masood. Sources in CBI said, "It is very fishy that not a single eyewitness account was found for an incident that took place in front of several people and in broad daylight."

Shehla Masood

Masood Sultan, father of the slain activist, had earlier said that things had not moved even an inch further since her murder. He CBI's work was being hampered by the fact that not a single eyewitness to the murder was found and nothing much could be done till that happened.

Too active?
Masood was shot dead around 11 am in her car on August 16 by an unidentified person in front of her residence in the posh Koh-e-Fiza locality in Bhopal. She was fasting in support of Anna Hazare's "India Against Corruption" campaign and had also been working on a number of other things, including wildlife conservation. She was actively involved in raising issues related to tiger deaths in various sanctuaries of Madhya Pradesh.

Masood also ran a company called Miracles, which used to look after various things, including event management. "There are several unanswered questions. We are also investigating if people were being influenced in the case," said a CBI official.
