A Nagpur-based college student killed self after being scolded by her mother for spending too much time on her mobile phone.
According to the police, a first-year undergraduate student allegedly killed herself.
The police official said the 19-year-old girl had lost her father and was being raised by her mother, who ran a "daily needs" shop in Nagpur.
The police official stated that the deceased recently appeared to have lost focus on her studies and would spend a lot of time on her mobile phone.

"She was busy with her mobile phone on Monday afternoon when her mother reprimanded her for ignoring her studies. The deceased then went to her bedroom and hanged herself," the police official said.
The police have registered a case of accidental death.
