To avoid any chaos and traffic heavy vehicles have been banned on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway from 7 am to 7 pm on Wednesday due to the Maratha Kranti Morcha in Mumbai

Superintendent of Police (Highway) Amol Tambe said, "People will head to Mumbai all the from Solapur, Ahmednagar, Sangli and Satara, via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. To avoid any chaos and traffic, we have banned heavy vehicles on the Expressway from 7 am to 7 pm on Wednesday."
Only emergency services or trucks plying vegetables, milk and fuel will be allowed. Trucks, cranes and other heavy vehicles will be to halt at the Kusgaon toll naka. The highway police has been deployed at full strength and will work in two shifts to keep traffic moving.
"Even after their shifts are over, the personnel will not go home, but will be kept in reserve. Patrolling started from Tuesday evening and will be deployed till Thursday morning," added Tambe.
