A 19-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a lake with his motorcycle in Nagpur city on Monday, a police official said.
The deceased was identified by the police as Atharwa Raju Anandewar, a resident of the Wadi area.
The official said the young man was doing a polytechnic (diploma) course and also working in a transport company.
He made a conference call to his friends in which he allegedly told them that he was going to commit suicide in Telangkhedi lake at around noon, the official said.

Before his friend could reach the lake, Anandewar came on a motorcycle in great speed and jumped into the lake along with the two-wheeler, he said.
A team from the fire department took three hours to fish out the body and the motorbike, the official said, adding the reason behind the extreme step was not yet known.
