Uttar Pradesh Congress MLA Aradhana Misra on Wednesday said new industries will not come to the northern state unless businesspersons are assured of good infrastructure besides a sound law and order situation as she criticised the Yogi Adityanath government over its performance in the last five years.

Speaking to PTI during a visit to Nagpur for a party programme, the Congress legislator attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in her home state, saying "they haven't done anything. Its like things are going from bad to worse... nothing (positive) is happening (in UP)."

To a query on the impact of Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra in Uttar Pradesh, Misra said though the campaign's stay in the politically crucial state was brief, it received "phenomenal" response from people.
"It was quite cold during that time but we could see women, elderly people and young children in large numbers coming out to see Rahul Gandhi and the yatra," she said.
Misra said the nationwide foot march has energised the organisation and infused new energy in Congress workers across the country.

Earlier, addressing a press conference here, Misra gave details of the 'Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan' which is starting from January 26.
As part of the new campaign, block-level padyatra covering all gram panchayats and booths, will be carried out by Congress workers and leaders.
