Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stressed on a need of strategic development of Kolhapur, including a memorial dedicated to Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. The announcement, made during a comprehensive review meeting, outlines initiatives to enhance historical landmarks and infrastructure in the district.

To enhance the historical and infrastructural landscape of Kolhapur district in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar chaired a comprehensive review meeting on Monday and unveiled a host of development projects and initiatives in the district, the statement said.
The meeting was held at the District Magistrate's office in the Maharani Tarabai Auditorium and it covered diverse aspects ranging from the memorial of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj to the beautification of Rankala pond, and the restoration of various historical landmarks in the district, the statement further said.

Among the key announcements made by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were the unveiling of the memorial of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj in the historically significant Shahu Mill area, along with developments in the Kolhapur International Convention Centre, the Government Engineering College building, and the departmental sports complex., the statement read.
Addressing the gathering, Ajit Pawar said that the importance of strategic planning for the city's development along with taking into consideration factors such as future population growth. He stressed the need for cooperation among citizens and officials to ensure that development work aligns with the city's vision and aesthetics, an official statement said on Monday.
Ajit Pawar also highlighted the historical significance of Rankala and called for the preparation of a development plan for the area. He urged officials to adhere strictly to good contractor rules to maintain the city's aesthetic appeal and cleanliness.
Ajit Pawar addressed the upcoming Kolhapurcha Shahi Dasra Mahotsav, extending its duration to at least 10 days to boost tourism development in the Kolhapur district. He expressed the need for cooperation from the Tourism Department and discussed plans to facilitate the same.
NCP leader and Guardian Minister Hasan Mushrif highlighted ongoing efforts by various departments in preparing development plans for the district and the allocation of necessary funds for these initiatives.
