A lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan occurs during a full moon night. The sun, earth and moon align almost on the same plane, in a straight line.
During the alignment, the moon passes through the shadow region of the earth for some time.
While this year, on November 8, the partial lunar eclipse will begin at around 14:39 hours (IST) and will reach its totality phase around 15:46 hours, citizens will have to wait for another year to witness the lunar eclipse next year.
