Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin on Tuesday congratulated TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for the party's spectacular win in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
"Congratulations @ncbn garu and @JaiTDP for the resounding victory in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections! May your leadership bring prosperity and progress to Andhra Pradesh, fulfilling the hopes and dreams of its people," Stalin said in a post on the social media platform X.
The TDP, part of the NDA in Andhra Pradesh along with the BJP and Janasena, had won 36 seats and was leading in 100 Assembly segments, according to information disseminated by the Election Commission.
Elections for the 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state were held on May.

Suspended JD(S) leader and MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of sexually abusing several women, was on Tuesday defeated in the Hassan Lok Sabha segment, by a margin of 42,649 votes. Shreyas M Patel of Congress was the winner in the constituency.
Prajwal secured 6,30,339 votes, while Patel got 6,72,988. Prajwal, 33, the grandson of JD(S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda, had contested as the NDA candidate. As charges against him of sexually abusing women emerged, after Hassan went to polls on April 26, the JD(S) suspended him from the party. He is currently in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing the cases.
If the just concluded Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh can be equated to a sporting contest, it will be Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan who could walk away with "man of the match" award for ensuring NDA's stupendous show. Despite humiliating personal defeats at Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka Assembly segments in the 2019 polls, Kalyan relentlessly strived to forge an alliance between his party, the N Chandrababu Naidu-led
TDP and the BJP. This bore fruits.
It was Kalyan, the actor-politician who first announced his party's intention to have a post-polls alliance with TDP at a prison where the former Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu was lodged following his arrest in the "skill development scam case" in September last year. Kalyan's announcement uplifted TDP morale and subsequent events drew BJP into the fold, bolstering the alliance.
