India on Monday pressed for early disengagement of troops in remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh during a fresh round of high-level military talks with China, people familiar with the matter said.

The Indian delegation at the 19th round of Corps Commander-level talks especially called for the resolution of issues in Depsang Plains and Demchok, they said.
The around 10-hour talks took place at the Chushul-Moldo border point on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the region.

There was no official statement on the talks.

The troops on both sides are locked in an over three-year confrontation in eastern Ladakh even as the two sides completed disengagement from several areas after extensive diplomatic and military talks.

The eastern Ladakh border standoff erupted on May 5, 2020, following a violent clash in the Pangong lake area. The ties nosedived further after a fierce clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020.
