The Karnataka govt has set up an expert committee to resolve the Udupi hijab row issue.

The controversy erupted when eight girl students of the college staged a protest when they were barred from wearing hijab inside the classroom. The aggrieved students have been protesting since December 27.

According to News Minute, the order states that a committee has already been set up to resolve the matter. The committee will come to a conclusion after reviewing judgments in the Supreme Court and various High Courts surrounding the issue. The order further added that the government will resolve the matter depending on the committee's report. However, the members of the committee and the timeline for the report are not decided.

As the college is also set to reopen on January 27 and after the holiday was declared for six days amid hijab row. Meanwhile, six students had also tested positive for Covid-19.
