Jana Sena Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan has tested positive for COVID-19. He is now safe and undergoing treatment, the party said in a statement. Besides Pawan Kalyan, Union Minister and BJP leader Prakash Javadekar also tested positive for COVID-19. "All those who have come in contact with me in the last 2-3 days may please get themselves tested," Javadekar said in a tweet.
On Friday, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in eight months, and was being shifted to a private hospital for treatment. The 78-year-old Yediyurappa was earlier hospitalised on August 2, 2020 after he tested positive for coronavirus.
"Upon having mild fever, today I got tested for Covid-19 and my report has come out positive. Although I am doing fine, I am being hospitalised based on the advise of doctors," he later tweeted. Yediyurappa requested all those who had come in contact with him recently to be observant and exercise self-quarantine
"As the Chief Minister was suffering from fever, he had gone to Ramaiah hospital for general checkup, where COVID test was conducted and as the report has come positive, he will be shifted to the Manipal Hospital," the CMO said in a statement.

Shiromani Akali Dal MP and former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal also tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Badal has mild symptoms and she has quarantined herself at her home.
"Dear all, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today with mild symptoms. I have quarantined myself at home and am taking all the necessary precautions. I would request all those who came in contact with me to isolate and get themselves tested at the earliest," tweeted Badal.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh also informed on Friday informed that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
"My COVID-19 test report has come out positive," Singh said in a tweet in Hindi.
He further informed that he is in quarantine at his home in the national capital. "Currently, I am in quarantine at my home in Delhi," he wrote.
Requesting the people he recently came in contact with to stay in isolation, he said, "People who recently came in contact with me are requested to keep yourselves in isolation and pay attention to your health conditions."
Earlier in the day, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala tested positive for COVID-19. "I have tested positive for COVID-19 today morning. Anyone who has come in contact with me in the last five days, please self-isolate and take necessary precautions," tweeted Surjewala.
