An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Hadipora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore on Wednesday, police said. According to the ANI report, Kashmir Zone police took to X (formerly Twitter) and said the security forces in the area are "on the job".
Kashmir Zone police posted, "Encounter has started at Hadipora area of PD Sopore. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow."

According to ANI, many terror attacks have occurred in Jammu & Kashmir since June 9. According to reports, the state has seen four attacks in the last ten days in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda, killing nine pilgrims and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan. According to reports, one civilian and at least seven security personnel were injured.
According to ANI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah previously chaired a review meeting on the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and urged the security agencies to "work in a mission mode" and "ensure quick response in a coordinated manner".
Last week on Thursday, per the report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi too chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the series of terror attacks in the union territory. The meeting, where National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other senior officials were present, was held to assess the current security landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
