Sources in the Mumbai police have identified three more doctors, who are believed to be involved in the Hiranandani kidney racket. It is believed that they would be arrested anytime this week.

According to a report by the Times of India, the three doctors are, Dr Suwin Shetty, Dr Veena Sewlikar and Dr B K Kadam. They were part of the local authorisation committee, which approved the kidney transplant between donor Shobha Thakur and deceased recipient Brijkishore Jaiswal on July 12, two days before police halted the transplant.
Dr Shetty and Dr Sewlikar are employed at L H Hiranandani Hospital and Dr B K Kadam works for a government hospital and is part of a committee, which reviews kidney transplants. Police say they face charges of medical negligence under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994.
So far 14 arrests have been made, which include, five doctors, a medical social worker, a woman kidney donor, an intended recipient, hospital CEO Dr Sujit Chatterjee, and medical director Dr Anurag Naik.
