The bail plea of Yati Narsinghanand, who is accused of delivering hate speech against Muslims at a âDharma Sansad' in Haridwar, was rejected by a local court in Uttarakhand on Thursday.
As per a report in Bar and Bench, the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Haridwar, rejected the bail application of Narsinghanand, who was previously also charged with making objectionable remarks against women. He was arrested on January 15 and later sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
Narsinghanand was booked under Sections 295 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings), 509 (intending to insult the modesty of any woman), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of peace) and 153A ((promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language etc) of the Indian Penal Code.
