Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has filed a petition in supreme court for a 7 day medical extension on medical grounds in relation to the alleged liquor policy, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Monday, reported ANI.
Arvind Kejriwal was jailed for 50 days in connection with the corruption charges linked to the alleged liquor policy scam. He was later released from Tahir jail May 10 and was granted bail until June 1, as reported by ANI.
According to the party, the Delhi Chief Minister has lost 7 kilograms weight after his arrest and his ketone level is high which could signal some serious disease.
The party further added that doctors have advised Kejriwal to undergo Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET-CT) scan and other medical test because of which he has petitioned Supreme Court for extension of his interim bail.

Kejriwal has been involved actively in the campaigning for the INDIA bloc for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls days after he was granted bail. He was arrested on March 21 after the schedule for general elections was announced. He can participate in poll campaigns but cannot attend his office as Chief Minister, as per ANI'S reports.
The bail is applicable till June 1 and Kejriwal has to surrender to authorities on June 2.
The apex court said that he would not have access to any files related to the cast and is not allowed to meet any witnesses of the case.
He will not "make any comment concerning his role" in the present case, the bench had ordered.
"He shall be bound by the statement made on his behalf that he shall not sign official files unless it is required and necessary for obtaining clearance/ approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi," the order added.
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases, in a six-week marathon running from April 19 to June 1. The counting and results will be announced on June 4.
Apart from this, Kejriwal also express condolences for the families who lost their newborns after a fire incident took place at a hospital in East Delhi. He also said warned that those responsible for negligence will not be spared, reported news agency PTI.
As per the media agency's reports, seven newborns lost their lives in the incident.
