Authorities in Chhattisgarh said that at least 26 people were injured after a bus they were travelling in rammed into a bridge near Gharghoda in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district on Monday morning, news agency ANI reported.
According to officials, the incident took place after the bus driver allegedly lost control and ended up ramming the vehicle into the parapet wall of the bridge.
"The incident took place near Gharghoda in Raigarh district on Monday morning," Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Deepak Mishra told ANI.
He said, "A total of 26 people were injured in the accident. Two of them are critically injured and have been sent to Raigarh medical college."

Earlier on May 24, two persons were killed while over 20 others were injured when a city bus they were travelling in overturned in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district.
According to officials, the incident took place at Gharghoda-Charbhata turn in Raigarh district. The bus was coming from Lailunga to Raigarh when it overturned leaving two of its passengers dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, in a separate accident, authorities in Madhya Pradesh said that two persons were killed and more than 10 others injured when a speeding private bus overturned in Morena district. The accident took place at around 9 pm on Sunday near Sikroda bridge between Joura and Kailaras towns when the bus was going to Sabalgarh from Morena, according to an official, as quoted by PTI.
In another incident, authorities in West Bengal on Monday said that at least two persons were killed and 22 injured when a lorry hit a bus at Samserganj in West Bengal's Murshidabad district. The accident happened when the bus was picking up passengers at a stop in Basudevpur and was hit by a Farakka-bound lorry from behind, a senior police officer told PTI.
Earlier on June 17, at least two women were killed and another injured after getting crushed under a coal-laden truck in Odisha's Koraput district, police said Saturday, reported PTI. The deceased have been identified as Brajalaxmi Rao and Rajeswari Behia, both residents of Tikira Street of Koraput, police had said.
