The transport undertaking reversed its decision and agreed to halt at five of the seven original stops, following backlash from the school and parents.
On Wednesday, the bus was seen picking students from the five stops en route to the school. Parents were happy that the bus halted at Backbay Reclamation, Backbay depot, Badhwar Park, Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan and Mantralaya.
They were aggrieved that they had to leave work midway or take private transport to drop their kids to the only stop the special bus was slated to halt at, according to a BEST decision taken a fortnight ago.
Special BEST buses for school children are started when there are over 50 students to be transported to one school.
A BEST official confirmed the new decision, which followed discussions with parents and the school administration.
Amod Usapaar, chairman of Aryan Education Society said, "The BEST deciding to halt the bus at five stops is good news. We are happy our children wouldn't face inconvenience." u00a0u00a0
