The assistant director of award-winning film 'I Am Kalam' has been accused of stealing the iPhone of a costume designer during a get-together at her house a few days ago.

The designer, Gayatri Das, has filed a case against Rajkishore Hota and his girlfriend Priyanka Ramanandi based on CCTV camera footage which shows them taking the expensive phone.

According to Das's statement to the Oshiwara police, she had invited Hota and Ramanandi to her house a few days ago. After they left later that evening, Gayatri could not find her phone. She asked Hota and Ramanandi who denied any knowledge of it. Gayatri then checked CCTV footage, which showed the two stealing her phone.

She told them to return it but they continued to deny taking the phone. Gayatri finally lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police and the two were booked for theft.

The police said Hota and Ramanandi then moved the Sessions court for anticipatory bail. An officer said, "Hota and Ramanandi were granted bail by the Sessions court on a surety, but both have absconded without providing the surety."
