Six people in Ahmednagar were killed after a state transport bus hit a tractor and a car in the early hours of Wednesday, police said, reported news agency PTI.
The Ahmednagar accident took place near Dhawalipuri Phata on Ahmednagar-Kalyan road in Parner tehsil at around 2.30 am, they said, reported PTI.
A tractor carrying sugarcane had toppled and another tractor was brought to offload the sugarcane from it.
The driver of a car also halted and was helping the people in the off-loading work, an official from Parner police station said, reported PTI.

"As the tractor took a turn on the road, a state transport bus approaching there collided with the tractor and the car. Six people in Ahmednagar, including some labourers, died on the spot," the official said, reported PTI.
An investigation was on into the Ahmednagar accident, he said.
In another incident, one woman was killed after a boat capsized at the border of Chandrapur-Gadchiroli district in Ganpur village, Maharashtra, on Tuesday, reported ANI.
Two women were successfully rescued. The search for the other five women is underway.
NDRF rescue teams were deployed immediately as soon as the police and district administration received word of the incident. The search for the missing women is being done on a war footing, reported ANI.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condoled the tragic incident.
"I pay my respects to those who lost their lives in this incident. We are with their families on this sad occasion," said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, reported ANI.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured people of financial assistance, reported ANI.
"The state government will provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased," said Devendra Fadnavis.
Further investigation into the matter is underway. More details are awaited.
Meanwhile, a truck transporting tomatoes overturned on a bridge on a busy road in Maharashtra's Thane city, affecting traffic for five hours on Tuesday morning, a civic official said, reported PTI.
The accident occurred on the Patlipada bridge on Ghodbunder Road around 4.14 am, the official said.
A truck transporting tomatoes was heading towards Ghodbunder when it overturned on the bridge. Oil leaked from the vehicle, and tomatoes were scattered on the road, said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic disaster management cell, reported PTI.
