Tragic: 34-year-old Parveen Khan was on her way to her Panvel residence when she allegedly fell off a moving train yesterday

A housewife and mother of two kids -- aged five and twelve -- the deceased person identified as Parveen Firdoz Khan had visited her mother's house in Parel, and was on her way back to her residence when the incident occurred. She was rushed to Vashi's Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital (NMMC), but pronounced dead on arrival.

T Khairat, an official from Vashi GRP who reached the spot after another commuter informed them about the fall, said, "The cause of her death is not very clear. Presently, we can only comment on the fact that she fell off a moving train. When we reached the spot after 4 pm, we found blood oozing out from her mouth and nose. Besides she had also sustained severe head injuries."

Railway authorities had identified her after they found her handbag, which was lying next to her body. They also found a return ticket from Panvel to CST in the handbag whose handle was detached.

Stricken family
The deceased person's two brothers who have an embroidery workshop in Govandi were the first ones to reach the NMMC hospital.

Although, they were grief stricken with the tragedy, the teary eyed brothers said that their main concern now was the welfare of their sister's two children, considering that their father works abroad.

"We were the nearest to the hospital, and hence after receiving the news we immediately shut our workshop and proceeded to the hospital. We are deeply saddened by our sister's demise, " said Asif Ansari, one of the brothers.

According to the siblings, Parveen had left her mother's Parel house at 2 pm, leaving behind her two kids before boarding the train. "She told our mother that she was going to the ATM to withdraw money. Why she proceeded to her house without the kids is unclear to us," added the brother.

Meanwhile, one of the deceased's cousins said that Parveen was unhappy with her marriage, and may have committed suicide.u00a0
