That is when their ordeal began and it is continuing till date. While Naresh's parents were happy with the marriage, Neha's parents were angry because Naresh was from the lower caste.
"When her parents heard about our marriage, my father-in-law Lekhraj called her to his home on the pretext of having a discussion with her.
But when she reached there, they beat her up brutally and did not let her come back to me. I then approached a court against them and the decision came in my favour.
The court said that I was her legal husband. However, even after the court decision, my father-in-law did not allow her to be with me just because I belong to a lower caste," said Naresh.
He added, "Initially, Neha's parents had asked me to hand over our marriage certificate to them. After I gave it to them, they approached a court and tried to frame me in a false case of cheating and abducting their daughter but could not succeed as the case was dismissed."
Naresh has also lodged a complaint with Police Commissioner and Kalkaji police station stating that despite court order, his in-laws are not allowing his wife to live with her.
Meanwhile, Speaking with MiD DAY, Lekhraj said that the allegations made by Naresh were baseless. "Neha doesn't want to go with him," he said.
