Korba (C'garh): Bodies of a 25-year-old woman and her two minor sons were today found in a heap of cow dung after they were allegedly murdered at a village in Korba district, police said today.
The incident, which came to light this morning, took place in Korbi-Dhatura village under Kusmunda police station limits, located around 40 kms from here, a senior police official said.
The deceased were identified as Ambika Kaushik and her two sons Yuvraj (5) and Lucky (2), he said.
As per the preliminary investigation, Ambika's husband Dayaram, who works in a coal-washery at Pali, was on night duty yesterday.
"When he returned home this morning, he did not find his wife and children in the house and launched a search for them," the official said.
While searching in his field behind their house, Dayaram spotted a part of saree and a hand sticking out from the cow dung heap, after which he informed villagers and alerted the police, the official said.
"The bodies of woman and the two children were later recovered and sent them for postmortem," he added.
Police have taken Dayaram and some other suspects in the case into custody for interrogation, they said. A case has been registered against unidentified assailants in this connection and further probe is on.
