The actor queued up to meet world champion biker Valentino Rossi, who made an appearance at the 10th Auto ExpoThe fastest man on two wheels, world champion biker Valentino Rossi wants to race in India, if the country hosts a Grand Prix in the future.
"I hope to race in a Grand Prix in India if there is one organised here," said Rossi, appearing for Yamaha Motors at the 10th Auto Expo at Pragati Maidan. Rossi made his first appearance in India, to the screaming delight of his fans, and those who did not get the chance to catch a glimpse of the quiet Italian inside the stall, broke it down and shattered glasses on Saturday evening.
As the crowd went berserk, the nine-time MotoGP champion was flattered. "This is my first trip to India and I am very surprised so many people recognise me. It feels great and the experience has been wonderful," the 30-year-old bike champion said. However, his most enthusiastic fan wasn't from the audience. It was John Abraham, who more than eager to meet his biker hero.
Abraham, who claims MotoGP is his religion, said he was speechless to meet the 'doctor' (as Rossi is popularly known) of motor racing. "I was speechless when I saw Rossi sitting on a couch and reading a book of motor racing which had his photograph in it. I sat next to him and started discussing the photograph as motor racing is religion for me and I cannot miss even a single race. I can cancel film shooting to watch a race. People often ask me about the actor I admire and I never have an answer to that. Because the person I admire is not an actor but the Doctor of motor racing."
Like any other fan, Abraham too wanted an autograph of Rossi, who was the fourth highest paid sportsperson in 2009. And Rossi obliged the star!
