Kolkata: A Vistara flight with 121 passengers on board on Monday experienced a technical malfunction during descent at Kolkata but the pilots managed to land safely, an airline spokesman said.
"Our flight UK-733 operating Chennai-Kolkata today (Monday) experienced a technical malfunction in the right engine during descent. The pilots carried out the necessary procedures and proceeded to land safely at Kolkata International Airport," the spokesperson said.
There were 121 passengers on board the Airbus A320ceo. The incident took place at around 8.56 a.m. during descent and the passengers were kept apprised of the situation at all times by the flight commander, the airline said.
The aircraft is currently undergoing inspections and rectification process to address the issue, it said.
