Tawde who was in Pune on Sunday to talk with the press said that his party had already cleared its stand that except political reservation, Marathas should get all the benefits under reservation policy, in addition to the separate reservation for the economically backward class in Marathas.
"When the elections are round the corner, the issue of reservation for Maratha caste has always been raised by NCP, however Pawar is misleading the people by changing his own stand when the report of the panel headed by Minister for Industryu00a0Narayan Rane to look into demands of elected members for Maratha reservation is on its way," said Tawde. Pawar recently gave a statement that he was in favor of reservation for all economically disadvantaged sections, including Marathas.

Replying to the query about the need of reservations for Marathas, Tawde said that most farmers who were committing suicide in the state belong to the Maratha community, and expect a few, the communities has always been neglected and feeble and that's the precise reason why it should be necessary to have reservation for Marathas. He also said that his party extends its support to Maratha Mahasangh- an organization which is extensively demanding the reservation for Marathas.
The BJP leader also attacked the state government for utilizing only Rs. 40 lakh out of Rs. 100 crore which was allocated for various permanent developmental projects to mark the 100th birth anniversary of former State Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik.

"The formal committee was set up by the state government to prioritize the developmental work that should have been done through the allocated money; however the state government utilized only Rs. 40 lakh. A similar incident happened during the 100th birth anniversary of the first CM of the state Yashwantrao Chavan, where out of Rs. 100 crore allocated money only Rs. 80 lakh was utilized and the remaining amount was shown as the miscellaneous expenses," added Tawde.
Avoiding talking about his party's strategy and the seat sharing among the members of Mahayuti (BJP+Shiv Sena+ RPI (A)) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Tawde said that the meeting would be conducted between the members of Mahayuti after the upcoming Ganpati festival in which the seat sharing issue would be discussed.
Talking about the internal fights between Congress and NCP, Tawde said that as many as Rs. 12,000 crore developmental work has been pending in the state due to this internal fighting between both the parties. He also assured that if Mahayuti would get an opportunity to form government at the state level after upcoming assembly elections, Mumbai's Metro issue would immediately be solved on the priority basis.
