New Delhi: The Lok Sabha witnessed an uproar on Tuesday following a Telangana member's demand for a separate high court in the state.
As soon as the house assembled, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan mourned the death of 20 passengers in a bus accident in Madhya Pradesh.
Soon after the house observed a minute's silence, members from Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) raised the issue of a separate high court for Telangana but the speaker asked them to maintain silence.
She asked the members to raise the issue during zero hour, but the TRS members continued their with their demand, leading to the adjournment of the house for 10 minutes.
Parliamentary Affairs Miniter M. Venkaiah Naidu told the house that the government is ready for a separate high court in Telangana, but the matter is subjudice as public interest litigations have been filed.
