Srinagar: Two police personnel were killed yesterday in a militant attack on a patrol party in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, police said.

Militants opened firing on the patrol party at Kulgam town this afternoon, resulting in the death of two cops, a police official said. The slain cops have been identified as Tanveer Ahmad and Jalaluddin Ahmad, the official added.
‘Environment not conducive'

The government yesterday said there have been a series of cross border terror attacks from Pakistan controlled territories across the LoC recently which has created an environment not conducive for holding a meaningful dialogue.

Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh in Rajya Sabha also said that Pathankot Air Base terror attack mounted from Pakistan and the subsequent intensification of anti-India cross-border terrorism including Poonch and Uri strikes have "eroded" the necessary environment free from terror and violence.

‘Ready for talks but...'
Pakistan is ready for a dialogue with India on the condition that Kashmir dispute is part of it, PM's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said yesterday. "We are ready for dialogue with India on the condition that Kashmir dispute is also included in it," he said.
