Both mishaps involve truck-bike crash; truck drivers run away
In two separate accident cases registered with the Hinjewadi police station, two truck drivers have been booked after two bikers were killed in the mishaps. In both cases the drivers managed to flee after the accident.

No parking lights
One accident took place on the busy road between Dange Chowk and Chinchwad, where a biker was killed after banging into a stationary truck that was parked on the road near Padumji Paper Mill in Thergaon. The deceased was identified as Madhukar Namdeo Mane (45), resident of Belthika Nagar. The accident took place at 9 am yesterday.
According to ASI Dilip Surve, the accident took place because the truck driver had not put on indicators or parking lights. The police have booked the truck driver Balu Nivrutti Bhise (40) under Section 279 of IPC for carelessly parking the truck and causing injuries to Mane. Surve said that Mane was taken to YCM hospital, but was declared dead on admission.
Rammed by trailer
In the other accident, on Marunji-Wakad road near Vinode Basti a local pan shop owner was crushed to death under a huge trailer. The deceased was identified as Abdul Rashid Abdul Hamid Shaikh (38). Shaikh was riding his bike when the trailer knocked him down from behind.
