Kyra, the performing arts restaurant has in store a weeklong musical extravaganza of rock, jazz, Bollywood and more

"Our objective is to provide music of all genres to a cross section. We ensure we give audience a taste of all kinds of music," says Deepali Sikand, Chairperson of Kyra Theatre.

This theatre restaurant, which has always mixed art with fun comprising unique performances, wanted to break the notion attached to the particular genus of music played in restaurants, this time around. And to top it all, just walk down one floor below and you get unlimited food and booze.

"In Bangalore you don't get to hear different kinds of music in restaurants. It is either the DJ music or rock. We ensured that Bangalore gets to hear different music," says Deepali.

While Eth, a Swiss jazz orchestra will bring a flavour of the west; Biju Nair will take you down the memory lane with Shammi Kapoor hits.

You have loved her or hated her, but could never ignore her. Shibani Kashyap, seasoned stage performer, who has lent her full throated, mellifluous voice to chartbusters like 'Zinda Hoon Main' will sing songs from 'Nazaakat' her latest album and more.

Eth, The Band
A Swiss band, it is a comparatively new comprising 20 members. Eth essentially plays jazz in a pure and unadulterated version. The group, which essentially performs in Germany, will present one of its first international performances at Kyra this Tuesday.

Tribute to Shammi Kapoor
Doesn't matter if you have loved or hated him, but you definitely could not ignore him. Whether it is the clarion call of 'Yahooooooo' or his mad antics, Shammi Kapoor remains in our hearts. Kyra brings an evening of evergreen melodies as Biju Nair, inspired by Mohd Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Sonu Nigam churns out some of the best Shammi Kapoor numbers.

5 AM
Originally started by engineering students Amrit, Sandeep and Prony, in the summer of 2005, circumstances halted the growth of 5 AM. But soon things took a turn. In 2006, Subbu, the drummer joined the group and soon a mix of eastern and western sound was born. A blend of Indian Carnatic Classical to Alternative to Progressive music, the band is ready to hit the stage with 10 original songs this time.
