Probing the origin of a threat email to BJP leader L.K. Advani, security agencies Friday raided a computer institute in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh, officials said.
The Intelligence Bureau (IB), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh police and the district police raided the computer institute owned by Sharique Masood in Mau, some 300 km from here, they said.
"The internet protocol (IP) address was found to be of a computer in the institute run by Masood. As per the initial documents scanned by us, it has over 130 registered students," an ATS source told IANS.
While no arrests were made, police seized a laptop and some documents from the institute.

No official commented on the raid but Varanasi ATS field officer L.K. Singh told IANS: "A team was sent to Mau after a threat to a senior politician but the findings are yet to be confirmed."
A BJP source said the central government had been informed about the death threat posted on Advani's website from a person who claimed to be a member of the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen.
