For parents whose children study at the the GD Goenka School at Dwarka, these answers are easy to get. The management of the school has introduced Global Positioning System (GPS) enabled buses so that parents can know the exact location of their ward as he/she commutes between home and school.
But this is not all. The school is buzzing with modern security measures. Apart from surveillance cameras that are monitored through a dedicated control room with Intelligent Building Monitoring System (IBMS), gadgets like circuit breakers, smoke detectors and latest firefighting equipment have also been installed for foolproof security.
Manoj Singh, member,u00a0 board of directors, GD Goenka, said, "Safety of students has always been our priority.
All these steps are being taken to create an anti-fear mechanism and to make parents feel their kids are secure at school."
Indu Pandey, a media professional, said, "If schools are taking these measures, one can be sure about the
child's safety. But being in the eye of the parent always can, at a certain level, hamper a child's mental growth. We have to be careful," she added.
