Donate old books for a cause, and chill out over beer with fellow do-gooders
Apparently, old books and beer make a good combination. That's what the guys at Bombay Elektrik Projekt and Idea Jugglers Initiative will have us believe. They want you to give away those old doggy-eared Jeffery Archers for a noble cause, and then follow it up with a chill-out beer session with fellow do-gooders.

So, if you have a whole bunch of old books stockpiled in a dusty corner of your room and you'd rather give them to a new reader than have the raddiwalla make a quick buck, this is a good chance to offload them. The books will will be sold at a garage sale, and proceeds will be donated to charity. "It's a great way for someone to get rid of old titles, and others to pick up second-hand books for cheap," says Sudeip Nair from Bombay Elektrik Projekt. The organisers have listed locations across the city where you can drop off old books at your convenience. The deadline is August 29. The books will be priced between Rs 5 and Rs 50.
