Cactus Cafe is the newest casual dining place at Andheri, but don't let the name of the place scare you. It's a nice place for a long, lazy meal with your friends Classic Hollywood movie stills adorn the walls at Cactus Cafe
Let's first inform you about the celebrity quotient of Cactus Cafe: it's a joint venture between singer Lucky Ali along with two partners. The singer seems to be playing his part in promoting the place quite seriously as he was sitting in the open-air area of the cafe, chatting away with a bunch of youngsters.u00a0
Ambience: The bright orange tables and walls contrast the huge black and white Hollywood movie stills that adorn the walls of the AC section. If you decide tou00a0 sit inside, insist they keep the music on or be ready to dip your voice for privacy. Potted plants surround the open-air section. No sight of cactus, thankfully.
Food: The menu has all the basics, from Fish and Chips to kebabs. Even so, the place is biased towards non vegetarians, giving them more to choose from. We tried the Poutine (Rs 105) and Prawn Cocktail (Rs 155) and a Date Milkshake (Rs 110), on the waiter's recco. The French Fries in the Poutine were fresh unlike the thawed-out quickies most places give out these days. The Prawn Cocktail is definitely worth a try. One sip of the Date Milkshake and we were transported to a Sheikh's table. Quite satisfied with the starters, we were looking forward to our main course Penne Posto (Rs 195) and Tuna Salad Sandwich (Rs 170). Unfortunately, both didn't quite live up to our expectations.
Service: The staff at the cafe is warm and efficient. They were almost apologetic they didn't have enough on the menu for veggies.
