The last episode with Smriti Irani as the matriarch Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi aired on this day. Smriti left the show due to problems with Ekta Kapoor, to focus on her show Virrudh. She was replaced by Gautami Kapoor. Many housewives were upset, with reports of a few committing suicide.

Status now: Smriti returned to Kyunki. This didn't help TRPS and the show ended in 2008.
