Thackeray cub roars in Aurangabad, picks apart Cong, Aurangzeb

"How can you call this place Aurangabad, when it's named after Aurangzeb who demolished Hindu temples? So we will call it Sambhajinagar, in remembrance of the man who fought against Aurangzeb."

These were the opening lines of Aaditya Thackeray, who was speaking at the second foundation day of Yuva Sena, organised at the Sant Tukaram Natyagruha.

Young support
Nearly 4,000 youngsters from various cities of Maharashtra had come to participate. And it appeared the youth wing, much like the parent body Shiv Sena, is moving towards Hindutva.

Thackeray's tone was very contrasting to his usual demeanour at recent rallies. And not just him: other leaders were toeing the same line.

"The Congress government is no less than Aurangzeb. Hit the Congress-NCP men with clean chappals when they say Aurangabad instead of Sambhajinagar. The reason why I am saying use clean chappals is because they are used to eating refuse," said Thackeray.

The other Thackeray
Aaditya's speech reminded many of Bal Thackeray. He claimed that in 2014, he will hold the party's foundation day outside Mantralaya and the government would be of Shiv Sena.

Ramdas Kadam, senior Sena leader, said in his speech, "Had Shivaji Maharaj not been there today this auditorium would have been filled with people with names like Hamid, Ahmed or Qasab and everyone would have been castrated. Today UP has more than 55 Muslim MLAs. Do we want the same for Maharashtra?"

He added, "The Muslims who demonstrated at Azad Maidan on August 11 went on a rampage for atrocities against their community in Assam. They even molested women police officers. All this needs to be stopped."

Party spokesperson Rahul Narvekar, when asked whether Sena was trying to go back to Hindutva, said, "When was the party away from Hindutva?" When probed about Yuva Sena following the same line, Narvekar added, "Yuva Sena is a wing of Shiv Sena. The ideology has to be the same."

Sena's bastion
Aurangabad was chosen by Aaditya Thackeray for the rally as, in his own words, it's his party's den. The sitting MP and two MLAs and one MLC belong to Sena. Also, Aurangabad has a huge Muslim population and Sena wants to claim this place as its own.

Yuva Sena will travel to other cities in the coming days to observe the foundation day.u00a0
