After nearly 11 hours, the terrorist attack in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district ended on Monday evening, police sources said
Dinanagar (Punjab): After nearly 11 hours, the terrorist attack in Punjab's Gurdaspur district ended on Monday evening, police sources said. They claimed that three terrorists were killed in the counteroffensive launched by the Punjab police. Ten people: four police personnel, including Gurdaspur SP Baljit Singh, three civilians and three terrorists were killed in the attack. An official said that the area was secured.
Army and Punjab police personnel joined hands to neutralise the terrorists
"Combing operations are on now," said Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Abhinav Trikha at the time of this copy going to the press. Police officials said that exact details of the number of terrorists killed would emerge only after the combing operation by the Punjab Police and other security agencies concludes.

Senior police officers, including Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini, went inside the besieged police station complex after the Punjab police's special forces neutralised the terrorists.

Six trains cancelled
Amritsar: Six trains running on the Amritsar-Pathankot route were cancelled after the police recovered bombs on the railway tracks following the Gurdaspur terror attack yesterday. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the attack.
Red alert issued in Assam
Guwahati: A red alert has been issued across Assam following the terror attack in Gurdaspur, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said yesterday.
"The Punjab attack is very unfortunate and we condemn it.
We have issued a red alert across the state following the attack," Gogoi told mediapersons yesterday.
Talking about terror outfits in the state, Gogoi added, "ULFA, NDFB, Jehadis - all are trying to disturb the peace and development of the state. But we have been able to control them successfully.
We have sought more central forces to better manage the law and order situation."
