Stand-up comic Tanmay Bhat's 'controversial' video has been a topic of discussion with many slamming the comedian. Now Sunil Pal has 'stolen' his thunder by making a bizarre statement

Mumbai based comedy group All India Bakchod's (AIB) co-founder Tanmay Bhat's 'controversial' video 'mocking' Bharat Ratna awardees Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar has been a topic of discussion with many slamming the comedian. Now, comedian Sunil Pal has 'stolen' Tanmay's thunder, sort of, by making a bizzare statement.

Sunil Pal

Sunil Pal, who is best known for winning the first edition of 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' in 2005, attacked Tanmay, for his Snapchat video as a part of a panel discussion in a news channel.

However, in doing so, he made an outrageous statement by dragging the LGBT community into the debate. This is what he said.

"Half the audience of Tanmay Bhat are gays and lesbians who like his sort of comedy, because as it is, they want to only dirty the society," Pal said on air.

This incensed Twitterati who slammed Pal for his parochial comments. Filmmaker Shirish Kunder, stand-up comics like Biswa Kalyan Rath, Rohan Joshi, Amogh Ranadive also dissed the comedian. Here are some of the tweets.

Here's what he said!
