Incident near Shakarpur in east Delhi, errant driver absconding
In yet another case of hit-and-run a car mowed down a 30-year-old MCD employee after hitting his scooter from behind. The incident took place near Shakarpur in east Delhi.
The deceased was identified as Rajender, a native of Hissar in Haryana. He was returning home from work when he met with the accident. The accused driver fled from the spot in his car while Rajender was rushed to Bali Nursing Home in Laxmi Nagar where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.
Police said that some eyewitnesses claimed the accused was driving a Skoda car. "We have informed the deceased's family about the incident. We are yet to identify the vehicle that mowed down the victim," stated the police.
A case has been registered in this regard at Shakarpur police station.
