Two policemen lose gold ornaments in south Delhi

This will explain how big a menace snatching has become in the national capital.

A Delhi police head constable, who was returning home from Gurgaon on a bike along with his wife, was allegedly attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants on Friday. The desperados snatched the cop's wife's necklace in Saket area of south Delhi.u00a0 The head constable tried to chase the assailants but in vain.


"The victim, Head Constable Bal Singh is attached to the Hauz Khas police station. The assailants came close to his bike and snatched the necklace worn by his wife. She shouted for help but the criminals sped away," a senior police officer said. An FIR has been registered in this regard.

In another snatching incident involving a cop the same day, a 45-year-old officer of the fourth battalion of Delhi police lost her gold chain to bike-borne assailant in the Malviya Nagar area of south Delhi.

"The victim, Murti Devi, lives in Kotla Mubarakpur area. She said she was on her way to the Police Training School when the incident occurred. We have registered an FIR in this regard," a police officer said.
