Alibaug: Six persons were killed when a car collided with a state transport bus near a village on Mumbai-Goa Highway in Maharashtra's Raigad district on Sunday morning.
The car was going from Mumbai to Mandangad in Ratnagiri district when it collided head-on with the bus coming from the opposite direction (Panaji to Mumbai) close to Indapur village at around 7 am, Raigad police said.
In the accident, all five occupants of the car and one bus passenger died on the spot, police said. The deceased which were the occupants of the car have been identified as Swapnil Rajaram Tambe, Swati Swapnil Tambe, Rushabh Swapnil Tambe, Suryakant Tambe and Santosh Tambe.
The bus passenger who died in the mishap was yet to be identified, police said.
The bus driver and his helper are critical and have been rushed to Mumbai hospital.
A case has been registered and further investigation is on, they added.
