Guwahati: Mikhail Bora, son of Indrani Mukherjea accused in the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, was taken to Mumbai this morning for further questioning, a police official said.
Mikhail, travelling by a commercial flight, was accompanied by a friend and a police team from Mumbai who had come to Guwahati to question him about his mother's alleged involvement in the killing of his elder sister, the police official said.
A local TV channel journalist who boarded the same flight as Mikhail, upon arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport in Mumbai aired visuals of him being taken in a police vehicle to Thane police station.
A two-member team of Mumbai police had come here on Thursday to question him in connection with the chilling case. The police team had come to Indrani's parents' house, No. 8 in Sundarpur Byelane One in Ganeshguri area of the city on Thursday afternoon to investigate into the murder case.
Mikhail was first questioned at his grandparents house and then again for two hours at the Dispur Police Station Thursday evening where he was asked about the case. He had on Thursday said he could only go to Mumbai if his aged grandparents were taken care of by the government.
Since Indrani's arrest he had claimed that he had evidence on the murder case of his sister. Mikhail had also alleged before the media that he believed that his mother killed his sister and he knew the exact reason of the murder but 'will not tell now'. He said he will wait till she (Indrani Mukherjea) confesses it in front of the police and if she does not, then he will do whatever is necessary.
On Thursday and the day before, prior to the visit of the Mumbai Police team, Bora had claimed before reporters that he had evidence on the murder case of his sister and that he feared for his life as he 'may be the next target'. Both Sheena and Mikhail, whom Indrani had earlier introduced as her sister and brother, are her children from an earlier relationship.
Indrani later left them with her parents U K Bora and Durga Rani Bora at their residence here before leaving for Kolkata where she married Sanjiv Khanna, who was also arrested for his alleged involvement in this case.
