Special staff of Delhi police arrested a sharp shooter-cum-contract killer,who was associated with an interstate gang Kala-Raka, on Wednesday. The gang has been involved in several cases of robbery, murder and car-jacking in Delhi and Haryana.

According to police, the accused was identified as Rakesh and he was apprehended from Kanjhawala area.
"Rakesh is the second most important person in the gang, which has been involved in various cases of robbery, murder and car-jacking. Delhi police had declared a reward of Rs 20,000 on Rakesh's arrest," said a police officer.
Past imperfect
"On April 1, Rakesh, along with his associates, shot at Sunil, a resident of Sonepat, Haryana after a brawl with him. In another incident, Rakesh shot dead Arun, a resident of Rasul Pur," added the police officer. On October 26, police received information about the movement of the accused in Kanjhawala.
"Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap near Chotu Ram Institute, Kanjhawala-Ghewra Road. Rakesh got attentive and shot at the policemen but he was apprehended," added the police officer. During interrogation, the accused disclosed he killed Sunil in order to teach him a lesson.
The associates
"He has committed a number of car-jacking and robberies in Delhi, Haryana and Maharashtra with his associates Naresh, Anil, Sunil, Sandeep, Vinod, Sonu Jat, Surender and Neetu.
Their modus operandi was to rob a vehicle and use the same for more robberies," he said. Police also recovered a motor bike, a pistol, four live cartridges and two used cartridges from his possession.
