Several city schools get 100% CBSE result

The results of the class X examination for the Chennai region, which includes Pune, were announced online by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) last afternoon. Several city schools have registered 100% results in the 2014 examination.

Like last year, the CBSE maintained the tradition of announcing results without any prior intimation to ensure students would not face undue results pressure this year too "From our school, 78 students appeared for the class X board exam. Out of these, as many as 50 achieved the A1 grade - a score above 90%. As many as 14 students scored full marks (100/100) in Sanskrit and one student scored full marks in Maths," said Milind Naik, principal, Jnana Prabodhini School, which has seen cent per cent results. With 98% marks Ninad Rajendekar stood first in the school. Students Varad Deshpande, Anup Itale and Devvrat Mahajan scored 97.6%.

The Orchid School also saw 100% results. Several students - including Shatanu Kapole, Karunya Baskar, Aditya Chinchure, Ishani Kulkarni, Lavisha Khandelwal, Sanika Sohoni, Isheeta Govardhan, Ayushi Mishra, Shreya Datye, Pranouti Waghulde and Manali Shukla - secured a 10 CGPA grade (highest-possible grade) in the class X exam, informed school authorities.

From Delhi Public School (DPS), 198 students appeared for the exam, of which 71 secured ‘A1' grade and 41 secured ‘A2' grade (above 80%). As many as 59 students scored a 10 CGPA. Neelam Chakrabarty, principal, DPS said, "The results for the school are very good and we have kept up our reputation. I feel it's an achievement to perform well academically while taking part in plenty of extra-curricular activities and the students have managed to do so."

The Army Public School and City International School also registered 100% results with 330 and 42 students appearing for the exam respectively. The results, which were out by 4 pm, are available on www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and
