The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex traded higher by over 110 points in early deals today, supported by the attractive third quarter result posted by software firm Infosys Technologies.
The 30-share index, which had plunged 296.42 points in previous day's trading, gained 110.94 points at 9,220.99, in early trade, after the scrip of bluechip Infosys Technologies rose by 4.85 per cent to 1,212.70 points.
Similarly, the 50-share National Stock Exchange's Nifty also traded higher by 20.85 points at 2,793.95.
Infosys posted a 33.31 per cent growth in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,641 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, over the corresponding period a year ago.
