On mission to expand its 'love jihad' conversions theory, Sene decides to tell women that affairs with Muslim men end in red light areas abroad
THE Sri Ram Sene, after making claims last year of a 'love jihad' being on in the state, but for which no proof has yet been found, is gearing up to wave a new warning before young women in love with Muslim men. It is warning non-Muslim women that there is a campaign on to lure them into love affairs that finally lead to their being forced into prostitution in Pakistan and other Islamic countries.

Renewed Drive: Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Mutalik says his outfit is putting together evidence of girls gone missing from the state and Kerala who ended up in Islamic countries |
'Diamond market'
The 'Pakistan female diamond market, or Heera Mandi, warning', so called because Heera Mandi is how a red light area is known in Pakistan, comes after the Hindu outfit last year kept up its rant against alleged incidents of 'love lihad', which it explained was a systematic movement of Islamic fundamentalists to make non-Muslim women fall in love with them with the aim of converting them to Islam.
The outfit had termed the phenomenon of 'love jihad' to be nothing short of forced conversions in the name
of love.u00a0
But unlike the past, Sri Ram Sene members say this time they will start educating young people on the 'dangers of irresponsible love affairs' and show them proof of the alleged trickery.u00a0
"Pakistan female diamond market, or Heera Mandi, is a continuation of love jihad, which is a forced conversion in the name of love," said T S Vasant Kumar Bhavani, Sri Ram Sene's city wing president. "We will start
an awareness drive in this regard."
The Sene theory
The Sri Ram Sena, which till recently claimed that a love trap was being used as a tool for forced conversions to turn women into child-making machines, is in no mood to stop even as the 'love jihad' theory has turned out to be a unfounded after police investigations.
The outfit has decided to take its protest further with the new 'Pakistan diamond market' theory in the
days to come.u00a0
"We have started collating information from girls who have come back after they went missing from Kerala and Karnataka," said Pramod Mutalik, founder of the Sri Ram Sene. "Once we put together evidence to show how girls end up in Arab countries after falling in love, the same will be presented before the youth to educate them."
To start off its 'diamond market' awareness campaign, the city Sene unit claims to have already started working out its plan of action.u00a0
Members claim they have also started creating awareness among youngsters in this regard.
They have drawn up big plans. These include preparing a CD containing visuals and soundbytes of victims and material that throws light on the alleged love trap that lands women in the 'diamond market'.u00a0
"We are studying some cases in Kerala and Karnataka, where girls went missing," added Bhavani. "After studying a few cases so far, we have found that girls fall prey to love. They are then sent to Bangladesh and further on to other places, mainly the 'diamond market.' We will mainly create awareness on this."
'It's nothing but a publicity stunt' |
THE police rubbish the Sri Ram Sene's new theory. Top cops say not only the Sene's 'love jihad' ,but also the 'diamond market' theory is all rubbish.u00a0 A CID investigation after a high court direction is said to have found 'love jihad' baseless, said sources. "It's being proved that Sri Ram Sene's allegations of love jihad are baseless," said a top cop on condition of anonymity, as the matter is pending in court. "Mutalik's theories of women being turned into child-making machines, love jihad and the new diamond market one contradict themselves at several levels. All this is nothing but a mere publicity stunt." |
