The patron of Shree Rajput Karni Sena, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, today alleged that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team were behind the attack on a school bus in Gurgaon, saying his organisation can never harm children. "Bhansali had sent his people to create religious disturbance in Gurgaon. We are ready for any kind probe in the matter... The Karni Sena can never attack children," he said at a press conference here.
Kalvi said 'Janta Curfew' will be imposed in the country tomorrow after the Republic Day celebrations. He again appealed to the owners of cinema halls to not screen the movie and said that the protests would continue till the movie was being screened. In protest against the movie, arterial roads were blocked, shops vandalised and bike rallies taken out in parts of Rajasthan, where theatre owners refused to screen it in view of the law and order situation. The Rajput Karni Sena said it had taken out a bike rally in Jaipur and in other areas against the film which was released today.
According to Additional Director General of Police NRK Reddy, demonstrations and protests took place in various areas, including Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Dungarpur and Banswara. Bhansali's period film, which some Rajput groups allege defames queen Padmini, has not been released in the state as film hall owners and members of multiplex associations decided not to screen it.
